Very Important Meeting on January 13th!

At the bottom of this page you will find the latest documents from the CWGC leadership. Here is a summary of what has and is happening. Most importantly we request your support at the upcoming public hearing on the proposed well site on January 13th at City Hall at 7:00 PM.

  • Chesapeake will be drilling soon on the property between Coppell Road and 121 (where the cows are).
  • They have requested to drill in the far north east corner and requested to do it closer than normally allowed to homes and the road.
  • They want access to the site from Coppell Road. THIS IS SOMETHING WE MUST NOT ALLOW!!
  • No contracts have been offered to CWGC membership as Chesapeake is drilling only under the property that they have under contract.
  • There is potential for CWGC membership if Chesapeake hits a productive well and decides to horizontally drill.
  • CWGC Leadership will speak at the meeting. We will: 1) try to ensure that access to trucks is denied to Chesapeake from Coppell Road and that they use the 121 access road instead. 2) try to ensure that wells are drilled under current set backs and no closer. 3) discuss other items that help ensure property owners value and safety.
